It's time for some music..

"We are a generation of idiots, smartphones and dumb people"

   This video touched me in so many ways, it is difficult to me to find some to share with you. I am a victim, no, not a victim.. I am one of the idiots that spends its precious time on the computer, on the smartphone. One of the idiots that thinks that its easier to stay inside than have to dress up an go outside. A few minutes before watching this video, I looked out the window and thought "What a nice day outside. One day I want to live on a ground floor house so I can wake up, and just take a step out of my window to smell the nature , to hear the birds, to lay down on the grass". But I didn't even thought about getting up, dress and go outside to enjoy the birds and the nature right now. 

   It is true , nowadays it is impossible to disconnect the online world. Especially for me, studying Engineering, and I love technology. Right know I needed to be programming and how can I do it without a computer?

   What I got from this video is the time I am wasting scrolling down Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The time I waste watching a Youtube video about doing some kind of makeup I am not gonna even try myself or watching some girls closet when I could be chatting with my friends and sharing those kind of things with them. The girl friends of course! Why do I have four unfinished books for months when a few years ago I would just finish the four of them in one month? What is the internet teaching me? 

   I am not using it properly. I need to go outside. I need to take a break from this world of procrastination and live real life. I just don't know if I can. Because I am one of the dumb people from the title of this post.

   It was better when it wasn't all condensed in one little thing we call smartphone. When we needed a camera to take pictures, a computer to go to the internet. 

   I know my writting is really bad, but those were the thoughts I could get out of my head and I really wanted to share them with you. Now I am going to program for some project , that's impossible to postpone any longer. But once I am done with it , I am going outside. Oh yes I am!

Iceland Water Park

On Easter day I went to this WaterPark. It was the perfect vacations finale! We enjoyed a perfect day with no queue on the slides and had a lot of fun! I loved it! :D

No dia de Páscoa fomos a um aquaparque. Foi o final de férias perfeito! Aproveitamos um dia de sol perfeito sem filas e divertimo-nos bastante! Fiquei bastante impressionada com o facto de não haver filas num parque tão grande e tão fixe! Foi espectacular! :D

Ferry Boat Experience

On Tuesday I went on a ferryboat trip to see the famous Atlantis The Palm Dubai. We took off , was still afternoon and came back at the sunset. Another experience to remember.

Na terça-feira fomos dar uma voltinha no ferryboat para ver o famoso Atlantis The Palm Dubai. quando saímos era ainda de dia e voltámos com o pôr-do-sol. Mais uma experiência a recordar.

Beauty Salon Experience

Hello everyone! So, the 5th day was my Beauty Salon experience. In Dubai you can find these salons everywhere but, I was given the opportunity to try twelve treatments by these wonderful friends I met there! I made two appointments for all treatments, one on monday and the another one on friday. On monday I did, as said on the brochure:

- Legs, Underarms and Bikini Waxing - Did you knew in Dubai people use to do hands, arms and even back and stomach waxing? That was really weird for me! Going on, the girl who did this was great and really kind to me! She was fast and almost painless. Even for me, really, I am like a little girl on this.

- Upperlip Threading - First time I did it. Threading of course, otherwise I would be a moustache girl ! Ahah! I thought it would hurt but it was really efficient, fast and painless!

- Face Cleanup - I really was needing to do one of those! It was great!

- Deep Conditioning with neck, shoulder massage and hair wash - Loved it! Well, just except for my weird dried bangs but it was my mistake for not telling how I wanted them.

Moving on to friday:

- Body Scrub - I felt like a Minion over there! It was really funny! 

- Body Massage - First time on this also! Soooo good! Almost felt asleep over there!

- Spa Manicure and Pedicure - So nice and simple, like I like it! It was also the first time I tried an Essie nailpolish. I was wanting to try one of those for so long... 

 

- Hair Wash and Blow Dry - Just in time for a special dinner... 

Oh ! Just to mention, the last three items were made at the same time! I felt like a princess!

Final thoughts? If , for some reason, I lived in Dubai, this would be my salon for sure! And I really want to thank Jackie, Rubi, Fátima and everyone else I don't remeber the name (sorry!) for making me feel like a princess by doing such a great work! I really appreciate everything you did! And next time I will try the Moroccan Bath, for sure!

 

Olá a todos! Segunda e Sexta-feira foram os dias em que me entreguei às mãos das meninas do The Red Lounge para experimentar vários tratamentos de beleza. Posso dizer que adorei o atendimento e senti-me uma princesa lá! Experimentei pela primeira vez a maioria das coisas que fiz como a esfoliação e massagem corporal, a limpeza facial e a depilação do buço com linha. Só tenho coisas boas a apontar daqui! Até a depilação a linha não doeu praticamente nada e foi mesmo rápido! Uma pequena curiosidade, sabiam que no Dubai as mulheres quando dizem depilação completa referem-se mesmo a depilação completa? É que elas depilam braços, costas, barriga e mãos até! Nem quis experimentar, porque além desses pêlos não incomodarem, ia doer pra caraças ! Pronto, mais uma coisa para a vossa cultura geral.

De volta à rotina...

Before everything I apologize for my publications delay. I warned you on my "about me" page ! Once it's been a while , it doesn't make sense to publish my last days of vacations as one day per post. So, I will focus on certain experiencies and share what was the most important for me. To highlight remains my shopping day at The Dubai Mall, the great attendance I had on The Red Lounge, a beauty salon, thanks to some wonderful ladies, the ferry boat ride to Atlantis and the day at Iceland, an aquapark. My desk is already full of post-its so, get ready for this!

Antes de mais peço imensas desculpas pelo atraso nas publicações. Eu bem avisei no meu perfil que não era de confiança.. Como já passou algum tempo não faz sentido publicar o resto das minhas férias como post individual para cada dia. Vou por isso focar-me em certas experiências e partilhar o que, para mim, foi mais importante. De destacar fica o meu dia no The Dubai Mall, o excelente atendimento que tive num salão de beleza, The Red Lounge, por causa de uma meninas maravilhosas, o passeio de ferry para ver a Atlantis e o dia no Aquaparque. Os post-its já enchem a minha secretária por isso preparem-se!

Uma Santa e Feliz Páscoa para todos!

I am sorry, my fellow English Readers but this text is , for now, only in Portuguese. Those are my deep thoughts and my deep thoughts are always in Portuguese, my heart language. And Holy and Happy Easter for you all!

Hoje é dia de Páscoa. Ressurreição de Jesus Cristo, nosso Salvador. Sim, sou Cristã Católica. Hoje devia de estar na casa dos meus avós queridos a beijar a cruz. Hoje devia de estar a chatear toda a gente que queria fazer o melhor tapete de flores e acabar a espalhar flores aleatoriamente. Hoje devia estar perante uma mesa cheia de comida e pegar apenas em doce banco, azeitonas e amendoins. Mas mais importante que isso tudo, durante esta semana perdi a semana mais santa e solene do ano cristão. Perdi a missa de lava-pés , a via sacra e a vigília pascal que tanto me tocam. Eu adoro esta semana e gosto bastante de participar em tudo. Mas falhei. E falhei por uma óptima causa porque vim passar as férias com o meu papi! Foi uma semana espetacular e não me pesa na consciência porque sei que se estivesse num pais cristão estaria a vivenciar esta semana. Mas não estou. Por isso hoje , antes de ir passear, passamos por um centro cristão em Karama, aqui no Dubai. A quantidade de gente era enorme! Arrepiei-me ao ver tanta gente de etnias diferentes , tão diferentes a adorar o mesmo Deus. O nosso Deus. O meu Deus. Aproveitei para orar, e encer o meu coração com o que os meus olhos viam. E assim é a minha Páscoa 2014. Uma Santa e Feliz Páscoa a todos! Comam muitos doces por mim! Como sempre xD

Sorry guys I haven't posted in a while. This days have been like crazy even with me doing practically nothing. In fact I am a very lazy person. For tomorrow, I hope, everything will be here. And there are some good stuff coming ahead. Bye bye!

Olá! Peço desde já desculpa por não escrever à muito tempo. Estes dias têm sido de loucos apesar de não ter feito praticamente nada. A verdade é, eu sou uma preguiçosa do pior. Dubai #Day4

Hi everyone! Today I went to Dubai Outlet Mall. And came back dissapointed... The prices weren't that competitive and the long ride don't make it better. But I came home with three pieces so it turned out well! After that we went , finally , to Al-Mamzar Beach Park ! The swimming pool was a dissapointment like the mall but , after that we went to the beach and it was beautiful there! That was the time I grabbed my camera and went exploring the best angles of the beach because it was dark already. So, I leave you with the best pictures I could take.

Olá a todos! Hoje fui ao Dubai Outlet Mall. E vim desapontada... Os preços não eram nada por aí alem relativamente ao preço regular e a viagem para lá não melhoraram a cena. Ms voltei para casa com três peças de roupa o que não foi nada mau! Depois do Outlet fomos finalmente ao Al-Mamzar Beach Park! A piscina foi uma desilusão como o shopping mar, depois fomos à praia e era mesmo linda! Foi aí que peguei na máquina fotográfica e fui em busca dos melhores angulos da zona porque já era noite e o sol não ia fazer muito efeito. Deixo-vos então com as melhores fotos que consegui .

Dubai #Day3

This. Day. Was. Wow.

Hello guys and girls! Today I went on a Desert Safari and it was AWESOME! I loved everything except for one thing. Or two. The Arabic food. Sorry people but I don't like your food. And my hideous headache. Just today that thing had to come over. But I enjoyed the same so, jokes on you headache! And I can´t talk about the Shisha because I didn't even taste it. Just for you to know Shisha, according to Wikipedia is a syrupy tobacco mix containing molasses and vegetable glycerol which is smoked in a waterpipe (known as hookah). " In many places in the Arab world, the smoking of shisha is a part of traditional culture, and is considered a social custom. " I don't smoke so, no Shisha for me.

I got the chance to make an Henna Painting, go on a Camel Ride, watch an Arabic Show and dress a Traditional Costume. Besides Dune Driving of course! It was a life experience, for sure!

Este. Dia. Foi. Wow.

Olá gente! Hoje experienciei um Safari no Deserto e foi INCRÍVEL!  Adorei tudo, exceto uma coisa. Ou duas. A comida árabe. E a minha dor de cabeça horrível. Tinha logo que aparecer hoje. Mas aguentei-me bem mesmo assim por isso, toma lá dor de cabeça! Também não posso falar sobre a shisha porque nem sequer experimentei. Para vos pôr dentro do assunto, shisha, de acordo com a Wikipedia é uma mistura de tabaco viscoso contendo melaço e glicerina vegetal, que é fumado numa narguilha (conhecido como hookah). "Em muitos lugares do mundo árabe, fumar shisha é parte da cultura tradicional, sendo considerado um hábito social." Eu não fumo por isso, nada de shisha para mim.

Tive a oportunidade de fazer uma tatuagem Henna, andar de camelo, assistir a um espectáculo árabe e vestir um traje tradicional. Além de andar nas dunas no deserto, é claro! Foi uma experiência para a vida, com certeza!
